The decisive factor of high image quality can be the probe, an ultrasound transducer, and a digital signal processing circuit. [Preirus] of which all circuits are renewed by joining forces of Hitachi group in an all-out effort. Beautiful and clear images are pursued by a single-crystal probe and Ultra BE (Ultrasound Broadband Engine).
The digital signal processing circuit Ultra BE specialized for ultrasound scanners realizes high-level ultrasound beam formation and image processing.
A single crystal is adopted as a piezoelectric element. In the ultrasound probe, the single crystal realizes higher sensitivity and wider broadband than those of the piezoelectric ceramics.
Basic Performance
The Ultrasound beam is transmitted and received in real time and in the multi-directions, and respective images are superimposed. The reduction of speckle noises and the improvement of contrast resolution allow lesions to be clearly observed.
Hitachi's broadband technologies succeeded to widen harmonic signals to the limit and visualize even low-frequency coupling images. This improves resolution and depth sensitivity.
The HI REZ function uses Ultra BE to perform high-speed calculation, extract structures and enhances tissues. This improves a contrast resolution and S/N.
Automatic setting the optimum scan parameters and the HI Zoom to enlarge images improve both resolution and a frame rate.
With the coded transmission and reception, the deterioration of spatial resolution is restrained and depth sensitivity is improved. The hybrid system Hitachi's advanced realizes the improvement of further penetration.
Trapezoid display with a linear probe is now available. This widens diagnostic field-of-view.
The high-frame-rate and high-definition color display function “Fine Flow” is incorporated. This reduces overflow from the blood vessels and allows a fine blood flow to be displayed.
Applications
It visualizes the distortion of tissues and provides stiffness information. This is a step to approach the differential diagnosis of malignant/benign tumors.
In an Elastography image, the strain ratio at any two locations is quantified. For example, in a breast application, the ratio of strain in fat tissue between target lesion (Fat Lesion Ratio) can be obtained. It is applicable to the research of tissue characterization and so on.
Real-time Virtual Sonography (RVS) is a function to extract a MPR image corresponding to the ultrasound image being observed from the volume data of CT, MR and US. As a treatment support function under the ultrasound guide as well as a training system of ultrasound examinations, it can be utilized for various applications.
The Dual Doppler that can detect two sample points allows combination with not only the blood flow Doppler but also the tissue Doppler. This allows to measure E/e’ that is one of left ventricle diastolic function indices or the measurement of inflow/outflow and so on in the same heartbeat.

This recognizes myocardium in a pixel unit and tracks its movement. The application range is further expanded from calculations of %WT to dynamics studies. | This is a function to display %WT in color for every segment with the 2D Tissue Tracking. The Contrast function uses WPI (Wideband Pulse Inversion) Hitachi's advanced and allows good sensitivity of staining. It can be used with not only MTI (Microbubble Trace Imaging) ,that enhances the visibility of fine blood flow, but also the alternate mode, that displays a normal B-mode and a contrasted image at the same time, thus it is a function that can play a role in various clinical applications such as the judgment of treatment effect and so on.

Operationality
The new GUI (Graphical User Interface) has been pursued so as for the operator to concentrate on examinations. This new simplified advanced Ultrasound Cockpit allows images to be manipulated without taking one’s eye off the monitor.
A touch panel is incorporated on the observation monitor. Basic operations such as the adjustment of image quality and so on can be made by touching it directly. According to the circumstances, only necessary buttons can be displayed allowing smooth operations.

In Preirus, a LCD monitor and control panel are incorporated as a unit, which can be moved vertically and horizontally together by means of a flexible arm. The operator can perform examinations in the best position whether he/she is standing or crouching.

A rotating shaft has been devised so that the operation panel can be brought closer to the patient. |

By elevating the control panel and monitor together, they can be best positioned by one action.
When moving the unit, the LCD monitor can be fold to secure a front sight. Also, the arrangement of various cables has been well devised.
Patient-friendly jelly warmer is arranged at a location where the operator can access easily.
